Sighs & Desires evolved from a previous project 3500 which involved an exchange of Polaroid self-portraits. Sighs & Desires takes this exchange into another dimension by using moving images in the form of video shorts. Each artist is presented with the latest piece of film to which they can only respond by producing another video self-portrait.
In Sighs & Desires the artists continue their exploration of the tension between working together and determining their selves as individuals. The glimpses and unspoken gestures of an inner existence and the struggle to make the tangible and emotive coexist.
